Haiku of the week

Whispering from past
And through shadows spells are cast
For our peace at last.

Haiku of the Week

Another murder
Is hailed by allied countries
As a sign of peace.

Ode to Fallen Friends

Unwilling corpses lay

Shells of lives past,
As skeletons are sleeping
On long-dry arteries
And water-logged lungs
Where blood is rerouted
Around the very struggle for air.

And yet calm will always
Dominate this sacred woodland:
Boy still meets girl
In sun-drenched clearing,
Both dressed this year's part,
While poets still
On rocks and riverbanks,
Mulling in postcards
Under kindly trees.

And so the waters flow
Even as we watch them,
Glancing within,
Or pass by humming
Unflinchingly drifting ahead.
And bluebells still nod
At falling blossom
Over reflections
In frames that begin
To breathe again.
