Gone freelance as (self-employed) pianist & music tutor.
Taken on private students of piano and guitar, and leading singing classes at a Bradford Primary School.
Give vocal tuition at Northern Academy of Performing Arts.
Performing for weddings and other occasions.
Give spare time to accompanying singers and instrumentalists at such groups as Bradford Music Club, and occasionally attend Topic Folk Club.
Also played, so far, for ‘Stampede’ in their production of Les Mis.
2002 – Present
Play keyboards, guitar & bass (alternately) in folk-rock outfit ‘The First Few’.
Write music and lyrics for some of their material.
Occasionally provide backing vocals in performances around West Yorkshire.

Lectured at Hull University on the Music Theory module for foundation year students.
Worked as a peripatetic pianist and music tutor for Education Bradford, travelling to schools that required regular or stand-in musicians for classes.
Sang bass / baritone in Bradford Chorale, including performances of the Mozart Requiem, Rutter’s Gloria, Brahms’ A German Requiem and various Christmas concerts.
2001
Graduated with a first class honours degree in Music with Creative Music Technology from Hull University, specialising in musicology with emphasis on 19th Century attitudes to women in music.
1998 – 2001
Was heavily involved in the musical life of Hull University’s Scarborough campus,
including as a member of their choir.
Spent a lot of my spare time accompanying other students for their instrumental
and vocal examinations, particularly for ensemble work.
Played a key role in cross-discipline activities, including performing in bands for performances organised by the Theatre Studies department and the Drama
Society. One such event was a production of A Slice of Saturday Night, that ran at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre.
Was resident organist at the Church of Christ Scientist in Scarborough, playing for all Sunday morning and Weds evening services.
1997 – 1998
Worked as receptionist and administrator for Yamaha Music School.
Was rehearsal pianist and band member for Stage84, including for productions of Fiddler on the Roof & The Sound of Music, both locally and at Edinburgh Fringe.
1995 – 1998
Sang for Bradford Raised Voices, a predominantly socialist community choir that performed music from around the world, mostly by ear. I occasionally lead (conducted) this group, including for a Bradford Festival performance in Centenary Square.
Also, performed songs from the folk tradition (on acoustic guitar and voice) with a few other members of Bradford Raised Voices, including gigs at the Joseph Priestley Theatre.
